I’ve had a passion for teaching since my college days and have had the immense pleasure of teaching metalsmithing and jewelry workshops since 2013. I’ve taught at both private and public institutions with students of all ages. In my workshops I share my years of artistic knowledge and experience with each student I encounter. I teach a range of skills for beginners to advanced using precious and non-precious metals and materials: Fabrication, forming, hand piercing, and studio set-up and tools, just to name a few.

Leaf Wrap Cuff Workshop
Learn to create a beautiful cuff featuring a sterling silver base with copper leaves. Sarah will introduce you to the jeweler's studio and some basic jewelry fabrication tools. Then she'll show you how to use solid sterling silver wire and copper sheet to form an attractive, unique cuff bracelet to show off your new skills. Learn to saw, hammer, file, solder and finish silver while you make wearable art! This workshop is open to ages 16 and up. $10 supply fee is payable at registration and includes everything you need, including silver wire! Sat 10/26/24 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM.

The beautiful Ginkgo leaf form will be depicted in solid sterling silver in this one-day workshop. Learn to fuse using Argentium sterling silver while you create the form of the ancient Ginkgo Leaf. Use skills like hand sawing, fusing, hammer texturing and polishing and leave with a complete Argentium Silver Ginkgo Leaf Pendant. All levels welcome in this fun workshop.
For this class students will learn to make durable and creative chains and clasps. Craft feathers, leaves, forged-wire, shell formed, and patterned chains with copper and sterling silver. Beginning and experienced students welcome! Learn fundamental metalsmithing skills making unique chain links, clasps, jump rings, color on metal and patina. This workshop will open up a wealth of knowledge to create wearable, sculptural artwork.
Learn the ancient art of Chase and Repousse! Utilize the malleable quality of copper to create a sculptural relief with simple hand tools and a little heat. For this class we will learn how to sculpt a delicate pair of wings that can be used in any jewelry design. All skill levels welcome!
